Permanent Supportive Housing Project Heads to LA Planning Commission
Perkins & Wills
Later this week, the Los Angeles Planning Commission will consider a proposal by the nonprofit agency, Weingart Center, to construct a 100% affordable permanent supportive housing project.
Located at 7022-7026 South Broadway, the proposed project would build a 6-story, 52 unit supportive housing project with 8 parking spaces and provide supportive services to formerly homeless individuals and families.
The project will consist of 40 studios, 1 one-bedroom unit and 11 two-bedroom units, with residential units located on the 2nd through 6th floors. To better service future residents, the ground floor will include a community room, conference room, kitchen and manager’s office.

The project will also provide an open-air rooftop amenity space, oriented towards Broadway and 71st Street. Additionally, the project will have 43 long-term and 4 short-term bicycle parking spaces.
Weingart Center will utilize the State Density Bonus Law to increase the project’s density and height and use a series of off-menu incentives and waivers to reduce setbacks and open space requirements.
Perkins & Wills is designing the project.
