Last week, the Murrieta Planning Commission approved a multi-family housing project located at the northeast corner of Washington Avenue and Nutmeg Street.
The applicant, Nutmeg/Washington Development LP and Pacific West Development, will construct a 210-unit multi-family residential project, consisting of 17 apartment buildings offered at a “market-rate” rent. The proposal is inclusive of 88 one-bedroom units, 88 two-bedroom units, and 34 three-bedroom units within 13 two-story buildings and four three-story buildings. A total of 210 garage spaces are proposed with 60 spaces allocated within eight one-story garage buildings. The remainder would be contained within each apartment building.

Additionally, there will be 183 uncovered parking spaces, 52 guest parking spaces, and one mail/package deliver space for a total of 446 on-site parking spaces. On-site amenities will include: an outdoor pool, fitness center with restrooms, children’s playground, two barbeque areas with picnic tables, a dog park, bicycle racks, bocce ball courts, clubhouse with indoor kitchen and outdoor event space/lounge area, an indoor mail room with an e-commerce package delivery area and a resident technology room.
Designed by John Watson Architect, the buildings will provide for a modern architectural style with some traditional elements, which is consistent with the surrounding residential neighborhoods. Defining materials and features for these buildings includes the incorporation of a slate-style roofing material, earth tone exterior colors, and tile facades.
