A multi-family development made up of 12, four-story residential buildings is coming to Chula Vista after being signed off by the Chula Vista Planning Commission last week. The proposed project by HomeFed Corp will include 280 rental apartment units and be located on two lots within and adjacent to the Village 8 West Town Center.

The 11.6 acre site will have 491 parking spaces and will be within walking distance to future commercial uses and transit.

According to the City’s staff report, the buildings fronting Main Street and La Media Parkway are set as close to the street as possible to enhance the urban form and character and to encourage interaction between building activities. At the northeast corner of the site, Building 2 steps back to provide a pedestrian plaza, a small public gathering space and a seat wall.
