Last week, the Bellflower City Council approved a proposal to develop a mixed-use commercial, retail and residential project on two parcels in Downtown Bellflower.

The proposed development by Serrano Development Group is part of the City’s overall plan to revitalize Bellflower’s downtown center and would be incorporated into the Downtown Bellflower Transit-Oriented Development Specific Plan.

The first parcel, located at 16411 Bellflower Boulevard, would entail the remodeling/demolition of an existing commercial building to develop a 5,100 square foot commercial space, a 9,350 square foot movie theater, 4,750 square feet of retail/restaurant uses and a public plaza.

The second parcel, located at 9735 Oak Street and 9742 Mayne Street, would include 91 residential condominium units, 139 parking spaces, and 650 square feet of commercial space. The proposed mixed-use structure on this parcel would be five stories with commercial space and parking spaces on the first level and residential units on levels two through five.

The residential portion of the building would contain amenities such as a business center, a game/recreation room, a club room and a podium deck with a swimming pool.

The development would contain 14,350 square feet of common open space, 2,080 square feet of public open space, and 6,924 square feet of private patio decks for the residences.
