City of San Diego Clears 91-Room Hotel Project in Point Loma
Vista Design Build
A proposed three-story 91-guest room hotel will be coming soon to the Roseville-Fleetridge neighborhood after being approved by the City of San Diego.
The developer, Vista Investments, will demolish an existing two-story, 40-room Vagabond Inn hotel and construct Hotel Point Loma with underground tandem stacked parking and a pool totaling 50,190 square feet.
The hotel located on America’s Cup Harbor at 1325 Scott Street will incorporate design recommendations as set forth on the Community Plan Implementation Overlay Zone and will include an open design concept with multiple balconies to evoke a sunny, tropical ‘south seas’ climate. The developer’s in-house design team, Vista Design Build, will also include in its design mature trees and tropical landscaping.

To conform with the City’s goal to reduce its overall carbon dioxide footprint, the hotel project will be designed with hard surface building materials that will have a high solar reflectance to reduce the heat island effect.
Hotel Point Loma was designated for a Process 3 review, which required a hearing officer to approve the applicant’s request for a Coastal Development Permit, Site Development Permit and Neighborhood Development Permit.
