Earlier this week, the City of Anaheim unveiled two proposed plans that will transform the areas around the Angel Stadium and Honda Center into a unique world-class destination offering unparalleled entertainment and attractions.
SRB Management Co., made up of Angels owner Arte Moreno and family, submitted a 30-year master plan that promises a vibrant new pedestrian and transit-friendly “town center” around the Angels Stadium.

The proposed development would include 5,175 dwelling units, 943 hotel rooms, 2,700,000 square feet of office uses, 1,100,000 feet of commercial uses and approximately 5 acres of parks. The plan also includes the retention of the existing Angel Stadium, with the potential for its replacement with a new stadium in the future.

Back in 2019, the City of Anaheim agreed to sell the project site to SRB Management Co. via an approved Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA). The PSA stated that the project site would be sold after securing a Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) that will include negotiated community benefits such as affordable housing, dedicated park space and hiring of union labor.
Construction is expected to commence in 2025.

Across the 57 Orange Freeway, H&S Ventures, an entity owned by Duck’s owners Henry and Susan Samueli announced their plans to transform the area around the Honda Center into a year-round entertainment center and fun zone for residents and visitors to shop, eat and drink.
The project called ocV!BE would include 2,800 apartments, two hotels totaling 650 rooms, 315,000 square feet of retail space, a 325,000 square foot office building, a 6,000 seat new concert theater, 20 acres of publicly accessible parks and more than 30 restaurants, including a 68,000 square foot food hall.

The developer also proposes to include a pedestrian walkway from ARTIC (the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center) over Katella Avenue to the front of the Honda Center.
According to the City’s fact sheet, ocV!BE will be privately funded with no city subsidies or rebates and expected to start construction in 2023 with completion in time for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Both mega plans are said to compliment the numerous housing developments planned and underway as part of Anaheim’s overall vision for the Platinum Triangle.
