Last week, the Orange Planning Commission approved a proposal to construct a two-story 30,113 square-foot (SF) memory care facility, called Park Plaza Memory Care, located at 574 S. Glassell Street.
Kisco Senior Living, the project applicant, proposes demolishing the existing restaurant building and surface parking lot on the project parcel before construction would commence. The proposed facility will have a total of 36 beds, with 28 studio units and four dual occupancy two-bedroom units, and 15 parking spaces for employees and guests in a surface parking lot.

The project site is bordered to the north by the Holy Family Catholic Cathedral and School, to the west by vacant property owned by Holy Family, to the south by Park Plaza Senior Living, and to the south by residential units within the Old Towne Historic District.
Designed by Shelter Architects, the project would have a contemporary architectural style with a flat roofline, cement plaster interior finish, an aluminum storefront with colored vinyl windows, and a recessed covered entry portico. It would have water-efficient landscaping with an enclosed courtyard for the residents.
