A new six-story, 139-room hotel could be coming soon to Santa Ana, according to a recently circulated notice by the City.

The Tapestry by Hilton Hotel, proposed by Globiwest Hospitality, will be located at 1580 East Warner Avenue and bounded by commercial, business park and light industrial properties to the north.

The project will feature a small-serving restaurant located on the first floor of the hotel, while an outdoor pool, deck and patio area would be located on the second floor. The freestanding restaurant would be located in the western corner of the project site, across the parking lot from the hotel. The project would provide 142 parking spaces in paved, surface lots and six bicycle parking spaces.

The hotel’s design by Alajajian Marcoosi Architects would complement surrounding hotel, commercial, and light industrial land uses with a facade comprising blue, metallic grey, and beige plaster with glass siding featuring vertical metal accents. The restaurant would have a slightly modern, industrial themed design featuring an angled roof and corrugated metal siding that would complement both the hotel and the surrounding light industrial and commercial land uses.

Since the site’s specific plan currently does not allow for hotel uses, the project applicant is requesting a Zoning Ordinance Amendment and a Conditional Use Permit for the hotel.

The project’s Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration, prepared by CirclePoint for the City of Santa Ana, determined that the project as currently proposed, unless proper mitigation measures are adopted, may potentially have a significant impact on the aesthetics, cultural resources, biological resources, and tribal cultural resources of the surrounding environment.
